A very interesting study for those considering costs and quality of new construction. Possible rainfall accounts for one hours direct production construction workers per day.
There is considerable scope for improvement. When you build in April and May, you get more for your money.
Quote from the report: "... the weather affects construction output to a large extent. The weather impact on site depends on the size of the construction site, at what stage you are, the season and weather variation from year to year. Working in all the days lost in the pure productivity for each construction workers on average 1 hours per day at the precipitation, 15 minutes because of temperature and 7 minutes at high wind speeds. On average, the crane is stationary almost 21 days per year, almost two days per month.
However, one should bear in mind that these data apply only to productivity reduction and not the extra work arising from adverse weather conditions. By making use of data presented in the paper, you can plan for any production-free days ."...
